Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to welcome you and your family to Julatten State School. Our school values excellence in teaching and learning, promoting community engagement and providing a positive environment for learning. Our vision is to develop well-rounded, confident and responsible individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential.
We currently have 56 students enrolled across 3 classes: Prep/1, Year 2/3 and Year 4/5/6. Our team consists of 3 classroom teachers, 3 teacher aides, our BSM and Groundsman/Cleaner. We are lucky enough to be part of the Douglas Cluster where we share a Guidance Officer, Head of Special Education, Speech Language Pathologists and Head of Curriculum. We are also supported by Regional Office with access to a Principal Advisor of Teaching and Learning as well as a School Nurse.
Our three priority areas are literacy, numeracy and wellbeing. Our educators undertake various Professional Learning opportunities to ensure evidence and research-based teaching practices are employed across the school. Teachers work with the Leadership team to analyse data and inform future planning for teaching and learning.
At Julatten State School, our priorities in the area of student wellbeing are to develop confidence, resilience and growth mindset in all our students by teaching skills needed to develop their personal and social capabilities. We offer numerous sporting, academic and cultural experiences throughout the academic year to widen and deepen each student's schooling experience. Our aim is for students to feel engaged, empowered and inspired to grow their love of learning. Our school strives to be at the centre of the local community with positive and effective links to the wider and global communities.
We look forward to you and your child joining us at Julatten State School, as we work together in building a happy, safe, learning community.
Yours sincerely,
Sarah Mason
